Jim Kinnett is a Korean born self taught artist.  His love of nature began as a child hiking along the Northwest Branch in suburban Maryland.  At the urging of his late wife, Jim ended a 20 year hiatus from painting and has been painting professionally for the past five years.

Jim's work has garnered him several prestigious awards.  He was the 2002-2003 winner of the Maryland Duck Stamp Competition.  Most recently, Jim placed 19th in the 2005-2006 Federal Duck Stamp Competition.
 

As an active environmentalist, Jim holds memberships in Ducks Unlimited and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Photography, kayaking and engrossing himself in a good book are Jim's pursuits when he is not painting.
 

Jim's previous careers include Sales Executive and Professional Golfer.
