Michele Green was
born and raised in the suburbs of New Jersey, where she studied
Advertising
and Design in Mercer County Community College. Michele continued her
education at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, New York.
Michele has many
exhibits and awards to her credit. Named as the official artist for
the
Delaware State Parks, she has been featured in the years 1997, 2000 and the
2004 issues
of the Outdoor Delaware Magazine. Her exhibits include the
Delaware Division of the Arts,
the Delaware Agricultural Museum, currently her
paintings are on loan to Senator Carper in Washington, DC.
The 2007 Summer issue
of "Outdoor Delaware" will feature Michelle's Rt. 9 Project.
Michele has earned an
artistic reputation from her Impressionistic paintings. Her loose and
generous
handling of pigment enhances the feel of filtering light.
Although Michele predominately paints in oils,
her most artistic achievement
is her 13 year old son, Clayton. She resides with her
son, and black Lab Sara Jane in Cheswold, Delaware.
Artist Statement
"Artists are blessed
with a gift, and burdened with a desire to relay the minds image's. All
to often we fail to see the virtue in simple vistas. I like to paint
what people forget to look at".
